How Osteogenic Loading Works
Train on our osteogenic loading machines once a week to build skeletal strength and improve bone density, in just 15 minutes.
The Research Behind Osteogenic Loading
OsteoStrong sessions utilize a series of devices that apply axial compression to the bone, a process known as Osteogenic Loading. By placing the body in optimized positions, these forces travel safely through the skeletal system at levels far greater than those experienced in daily activity or traditional weight training. Heavy loading is widely recognized and recommended by international medical bodies, and at OsteoStrong, we make it safer and more efficient.
What a Session Looks Like
Sessions are by appointment and take about fifteen minutes. You'll work one-on-one with a coach the entire time.

QUESTIONS?
Houston Osteoporosis Treatment FAQs
What Is OsteoStrong?
OsteoStrong is a non-pharmaceutical, coach-guided skeletal wellness program designed to support bone health, skeletal strength, and overall musculoskeletal wellness. Unlike traditional gym workouts, OsteoStrong uses specialized Growth Trigger devices to apply controlled mechanical loading to different areas of the skeletal system through a process known as osteogenic loading. Each session takes approximately 15 minutes, just once per week, making it easy to incorporate into your routine. With convenient locations in Spring Branch and River Oaks, OsteoStrong Houston welcomes individuals looking to maintain bone health or explore complementary support for osteoporosis, osteopenia, and low bone density alongside physician-directed medical care.
Can Osteogenic Loading Help With Osteoporosis or Osteopenia?
Osteogenic loading may help support skeletal wellness in individuals with osteoporosis or osteopenia by applying controlled mechanical forces to the bones. Research shows that bones respond to mechanical stress, making appropriate weight-bearing and resistance exercises an important part of maintaining bone health. At OsteoStrong Houston, our specialized Growth Trigger devices provide a coach-guided approach to skeletal loading without traditional weightlifting. While the principles of mechanical loading are supported by research, clinical evidence specific to OsteoStrong remains limited, and improvements in bone mineral density are not guaranteed. Our program is designed to complement, not replace, physician-directed osteoporosis or osteopenia treatment.
How Long Does OsteoStrong Take to Work?
Results from OsteoStrong vary by individual, with some members reporting improvements in their perceived strength, stability, or balance after several weekly sessions. Our specialized Growth Trigger devices measure force output during each visit, allowing you and your wellness coach to track changes in strength performance over time. However, increased force output does not necessarily indicate improvements in bone mineral density. Changes in bone density require clinical evaluation through a DXA scan, typically performed at intervals recommended by your healthcare provider, often a year or longer. Consistent participation in OsteoStrong can be part of a long-term approach to supporting skeletal wellness, but specific results and timelines are not guaranteed.
Does Health Insurance Cover OsteoStrong Sessions?
No, OsteoStrong Houston does not accept or bill traditional health insurance or Original Medicare for its osteogenic loading sessions. However, certain Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) arrangements may allow eligible membership expenses, depending on your plan's requirements. Some Medicare Advantage plans may also offer wellness benefits that could help cover membership costs. While reimbursement is not guaranteed, you may be able to submit your OsteoStrong membership receipt to your plan administrator for consideration. We recommend verifying eligibility and reimbursement requirements directly with your provider. Our Spring Branch and River Oaks teams are happy to answer questions about membership options and provide receipts upon request.
Is OsteoStrong Covered by Medicare?
No, OsteoStrong Houston is not covered by Original Medicare, and our centers do not bill Medicare directly for osteogenic loading sessions. However, certain Medicare Advantage plans may offer supplemental fitness or wellness benefits that could help cover membership costs, depending on your specific plan. While coverage and reimbursement are not guaranteed, you may be able to submit your OsteoStrong membership receipt to your plan administrator for reimbursement consideration. We recommend contacting your Medicare Advantage provider to verify eligibility and any applicable requirements.
